What inspired you to start A Darling Affair?

We have always had a love for design, craft and styled events and had tried our hand at a few little joint projects, and were always watching and waiting for that one thing that we would really enjoy and we could dedicate ourselves to. At the beginning of 2012 our interest was sparked as we were inspired by the new breed of wedding fairs popping up interstate, and really felt that we had finally found our niche.

Who is behind A Darling Affair? 

We are a best-friend duo, brought together through our husbands. Carrie is the blonde, originally from Sydney; and Emily is the brunette, a local to the Sunshine Coast. We are a laid back no fuss pair, except when it comes to our events – where we are all about the added details that make an event memorable. We love all things design and style – are often trawling blogs online, and when we’re not in front of the computer you’ll find us scouting around for new sources of local inspiration and great places to hang out with our close friends. Often we are asked what else we do for work apart from our fairs – the simple answer is nothing at this stage, we are busy enough with our darling events and tending to our darling little families.

What can visitors to A Darling Affair expect at the event?

A highly creative and visual experience – not a rigid, corporate expo. We have a great line up of the finest, fresh wedding suppliers the Gold Coast has to offer. A whole day experience, filled with fashion parades, demonstrations, giveaways, food and fun.

Why is A Darling Affair different to other wedding expos/events?

We are the first of this calibre of fair to be dedicated to the Gold Coast region, it is an event of high quality, creativity and style. It will be a stunning event with so many gorgeous sources of inspiration. We encourage an intimate, laid back environment where our guests can meet and really get to know the people they will be trusting one of their most important moments with.

Who should attend A Darling Affair? Should Bride-to-Be’s bring their fiancés?
